Bursaries have been given since 1968 by the White
Rock/Surrey Club to Surrey and White Rock women entering their third year
or higher of an accredited university degree program.
In November, 1986, the Bursary Foundation was
established, thus enabling the club to issue receipts for income tax
purposes.
The number and amount of bursaries varies. Three
bursaries of $3000 were awarded in 2008. In 2009, three "jubilee" bursaries
of $3000 were given as a result of a "toonie drive" among the members,
marking the club’s 50th anniversary,
In 2010, two bursaries of $2500 will be awarded.
